Delegate authority to authorized users to allow them to assist in managing your account, pay invoices, open support tickets, and more.
You may specify the types of email notifications authorized users will receive. If you assign certain account administration tasks to someone who will assist you, that person may then login to your account with their own email and password.
This function is useful to assign access to administrative, financial, and technical colleagues who may need to access your account while limiting their access only to aspects relevant to their roles.
Add a New Authorized User
- Login to your fzAccount.
- Select the Authorized Users option from the Hello, (First Name) menu.
- If necessary, select “Add New Authorized User” from the Choose User dropdown box, then select the Go button.
- Enter the authorized user's details. First and last name, email address, phone number, and postal address including city, state, and postal code are required.
- If you wish to authorize the user to view or manage portions of your account, select the Allow this user to access my fzAccount checkbox. Then, check the boxes for each permission you wish assign and enter a secure password for the authorized user. You may use the Generate Password button to create a strong password.
- Select the checkboxes for the types of email notifications you wish the user to receive. Authorized users may be configured to receive emails but not have login access.
- To allow an authorized user to receive support ticket messages, select the Allow this user to access my fzAccount option described in the previous step and assign the "View & Open Support Tickets" permission.
- Select the Save Changes button.
- Securely contact your authorized user to inform them of their login details. We recommend providing this information in person, by telephone, or by postal mail — it is unsafe to send passwords via email.
Modify an Existing Authorized User
- Login to your fzAccount.
- Select the Authorized Users option from the Hello, (First Name) menu.
- Select the authorized user you wish to modify from the Choose User dropdown box, then select the Go button.
- Edit the authorized user's details as necessary. First and last name, email address, phone number, and postal address including city, state, and postal code are required.
- If this user is authorized to view or manage portions of your account, the Allow this user to access my fzAccount checkbox should be selected. As needed, check the boxes for each permission to be assigned.
- Do not enter a new password unless you wish to overwrite the authorized user's existing password. Otherwise, enter a new secure password for the authorized user.
Delete an Authorized User
In general, it may be wiser to modify an existing authorized user's permissions to rescind permissions they no longer need. It is possible to assign no permissions to a user, allowing them to be retained in your fzAccount for potential future use.
Deleting an authorized user is a permanent action and disconnects them from any assigned support tickets. The tickets will remain accessible to the main account holder, but the deleted user's name will be removed from ticket messages they submitted. This may create confusion. Recreating the authorized user will not reconnect previous support ticket messages to that user.
If you are certain you wish to delete the user, proceed with the following steps:
- Login to your fzAccount.
- Select the Authorized Users option from the Hello, (First Name) menu.
- Select the authorized user you wish to delete from the Choose User dropdown box, then select the Go button.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to select the Delete User button. In the popup that appears, select Yes to confirm the deletion.
