For half a century the Allegro Handbell Ensemble has been an inspirational music education organization for Chicago-area youth.
The group has earned international attention during its tours throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico. The ensemble has toured the European continent more than a dozen times.
Founded by John Macdonald, the group was subsequently conducted Dwight K. Menard, Michael Surratt, Elizabeth Jung, and Stephen C Edwards.
